Women Making History

When I voted on Tuesday, I felt enormously grateful to live country where I was able to cast my ballot.  Thank you to all those women and veterans who have fought to give me my rights and freedom.

Here are six amazing women in leadership who made history in the November 2016 U.S. Election.

Tammy Duckworth: 1st female veteran in the House of Representatives

Ilhan Omar:  1st Somali-American, former refugee, woman to become a U.S. Legislator

Kate Brown: Re-elected Governor of Oregon

Pramila Jayapal: 1st Indian-American woman in the House of Representatives

Catherine Cortez Masto: 1st Latina to serve in the U.S. Senate

Kamala Harris: 1st Indian-American and 2nd African-American female elected to serve in the U.S. Senate
